“men of military age”を「便衣兵」と訳す秦郁彦氏に朝日を批判する資格なんかないと思う
東京裁判の判決文には以下の記述があります。
Organized and wholesale murder of male civilians was conducted with the apparent sanction of the commanders on the pretense that Chinese soldiers had removed their uniforms and were mingling with the population. Groups of Chinese civilians were formed, bound with their hands behind their backs, and marched outside the walls of the city where they were killed in groups by machine gun fire and with bayonets. More than 20,000 Chinese men of military age are known to have died in this fashion.

中国軍敗残兵が制服を脱いで民間人に紛れ込んだことに対する制裁として男性民間人に対する組織的大量殺害が行なわれた、とあり、民間人は後ろ手に縛られ、集団で城外に連行され、機関銃と銃剣で殺された、とあります。
その犠牲者数として、“ More than 20,000 Chinese men of military age”、つまり兵士となりそうな年齢の男性2万人以上、と述べられています。
この判決文をどう読んでも、殺された2万人以上は民間人を指しています。“male civilians”、“Chinese civilians”という語がそれを示しています。
ところが秦郁彦氏は、「南京事件 増補版
（P261-262）
集団殺害の一九万人についても、疑問が多い。犠牲者二〇万以上と判定した東京裁判の判決が内訳として認めたのは捕虜三万、便衣兵二万、民間人一万二千の計六万二千で、差数の一四万人については説明がなく、一五万五千という慈善団体の埋葬数（六万二千との重複には触れずに）を参考的に挙げているにすぎない。
この一文自体、酷いデタラメがありますが、それは後述するとして、問題は「便衣兵二万」の記述です。判決原文で“ More than 20,000 Chinese men of military age”が秦郁彦氏によって、「便衣兵」と捏造されてしまっています。
これは、秦氏は判決原文を読んだことないのではないか、と疑いたくなるくらい酷い誤訳です。
秦氏に言わせれば、兵隊となり得る20代〜40代の男性は有無を言わさず便衣兵扱いして構わない、ということなのでしょうね。
こんな誤訳・捏造を犯すような秦郁彦氏に朝日を誤報と批判するのは、詐欺師が道徳を語るくらい性質の悪い冗談ですね。まあ、日本の道徳では、曽野綾子氏のような差別主義者を取り上げるくらいですから、安倍日本では“普通のこと”なのかもしれませんが。
ちなみに、上で引用した秦氏「南京事件 増補版
まず、「犠牲者二〇万以上と判定した東京裁判の判決が内訳として認めた」と書かれていますが、20万人以上という犠牲者数は“Estimates made at a later date”後日の推定値として示されたもので、「内訳」がどうのという話はありません。
Estimates made at a later date indicate that the total number of civilians and prisoners of war murdered in Nanking and its vicinity during the first six weeks of the Japanese occupation was over 200,000. That these estimates are not exaggerated is borne out by the fact that burial societies and other organizations counted more than 155,000 bodies which they buried. They also reported that most of those were bound with their hands tied behind their backs. These figures do not take into account those persons whose bodies were destroyed by burning, or by throwing them into the Yangtze River, or otherwise disposed of by Japanese.

15万5000人以上の埋葬者数と焼却で遺体が損壊されたり、長江に投げ捨てられたことを考慮すれば、20万人以上という推定値は過大ではない、と裁判所は判定したわけです。内訳の積み上げで推定したわけではありません。
次に、「判決が内訳として認めたのは捕虜三万、便衣兵二万、民間人一万二千の計六万二千」と言う部分ですが、秦氏による「便衣兵」という捏造については上記で説明しましたのでそれ以外について。
「捕虜三万」の記述はこれです。
Large parties of Chinese soldiers laid down their arms and surrendered outside Nanking; within 72 hours after their surrender, they were killed in groups by machine gun fire along the bank of the Yangtze River. Over 30,000 such prisoners of war were so killed.

「民間人一万二千」の記述はこれ。
At least 12,000 non-combatant Chinese men, women and children met their deaths in these indiscriminate killings during the first tow or three days of the Japanese occupation of the city.

「Over 30,000」を3万人に、「At least 12,000」を1万2000人、に改ざんするのは、「便衣兵」の捏造に比べれば可愛いものですが、問題は「捕虜三万、便衣兵二万、民間人一万二千」の他に、判決には記載があるという点です。
Of the civilians who had fled Nanking, over 57,000 were overtaken and interned. These were starved and tortured in captivity until a large number died. Many of the survivors were killed by machine gun fire and by bayoneting

5万7000人の避難民を虐殺した件についても判決文では述べているのですが、秦氏は何の断りも無くトリミングし「差数の一四万人については説明がなく」と揶揄しています。
最後に「犠牲者二〇万以上」について「一五万五千という慈善団体の埋葬数（六万二千との重複には触れずに）を参考的に挙げているにすぎない」と揶揄している部分ですが、上記判決引用部分を再掲します。

判決を読む限り、20万人以上という数字は、報告された埋葬者数に、損壊・投棄などで死体が残らなかった犠牲者数を考慮して、裁判所が妥当な数字であると判断したと言えます。秦氏が勝手に改ざんして算出した「六万二千」などという数字など、参考にされていないのは当たり前です。それを「六万二千との重複には触れずに」と表現するのは、この時期の秦氏の心性の下劣さを物語っていますね。
増補版で追加された部分を読む限り、秦氏は東京裁判の判決文を本当に読んだのか、と言いたくなるほど酷い歪曲に満ちています。
